What is ISOC-SI?
The Internet Society of Slovenia, ISOC-SI, is a non-profit organisation which promotes development of the Internet in Slovenia to benefit the whole community, including business, academic, professional and individual Internet users.
ISOC-SI is committed to the positive evolution of the Internet. It is the Slovenian chapter of the global Internet Society, ISOC, the parent body of the Internet Engineering Task Force – a large, open community of network designers, operators, vendors, and researchers which creates the protocols and standards underlying the Internet.
Members of ISOC-SI are able to: - have their say in submissions on public policy and critical Internet issues affecting Slovenia - stay informed with our mailing-lists - support ongoing international Internet development through ISOC and the IETF
What does ISOC-SI do?
ISOC-SI provides technically knowledgeable advice on Internet development and public policy. It helps members seek information, discuss issues and provide input into policy submissions, which the Society takes to industry and government on the members’ behalf. Through our parent body ISOC, members also take part in international Internet policy development.
ISOC-SI represents the interests of the users of the Internet. The internet industry in Slovenia is required to be self-regulatory, to consult with and take into account the interests of all users – individual and professional. ISOC-SI is widely respected as the provider of the informed voice essential to this process.
What can ISOC-SI do for you?
Individual Members Anyone may join ISOC-SI as an individual member. Members may use mailing-lists, contribute to submissions, attend networking get-togethers, and receive reduced fees to forums and conferences. Members become part of a friendly, informed network of people at all levels of Internet experience.
Sponsors ISOC-SI sponsors showcase their direct commitment to the development of the Internet for the benefit of all of its uses. Sponsors gain the opportunity to network with some of the most Internet-experienced people and groups in Slovenia. They may take part in the Advisory Council, to offer their perspective and input into submissions. Sponsors also receive promotion at meetings, events and on the Society’s website, and may highlight their status as supporters of ISOC-SI in their own marketing. ACTUAL: |
